There are so many different versions of Cinderella and honestly I’ve never gotten tired of watching especially with my daughters. What is your favorite version of Cinderella?
Walt Disney’s Cinderella.
This one is always a first Classic to watch. You have wonderful catchy songs and lovable characters. Such as Jaq and Gus who help their favorite heroine throughout the movie. The evil cat Lucifer who chases the mice and tries his best to sabotage Cinderella. Of course Her wicked stepmother and her two step sisters. Let’s not forget her fairy godmother who sang a favorite song Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo.
Disney’s Live Action Cinderella
This movie was good it wasn’t great. I did however love Helena as the fairy godmother. She is such a wonderful actress in whichever role she plays. You have Cinderella here whom we see more with her father in the beginning with the mother which was so touching. We see her Father meeting Lady Tremaine who is played by Cate Blanchett (which I thought she was good at being a villain) and how she is wasting money and partying. I did enjoy the animals and their reprisal role to help Cinderella in the movie.
Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella. This one is one of my favorites. I just love the singing and catchy songs. I loved Leslie Ann Warren as Cinderella. It’s just a fun movie for those who love musicals.
Disney’s reprisal of Rogers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella (1997).
This one was great too because Brandy has always wanted to perform with Whitney Houston. My favorite character was played by Jason Alexander because he made the movie more hilarious. Otherwise it’s the same catchy songs you may love and a bigger hoopla because of Brandy and Whitney Houston.
Fox’s Ever After A Cinderella Story
I loved this movie so much. My father would watch this movie over and over. Drew Barrymore was wonderful as Danielle. So here Cinderella’s real name is Danielle De Barbarac and you see her Father meeting a new Lady Baroness Rodmilla De Ghent and her two Daughters, Jaqueline and Marguerite. The story is so much fuller here I thought it was fun with Leonardo’s Character. One of my favorite quotes is “Yes I’ll be known in history for the man who opened a door” as he helps the two maids open the cellar door releasing Danielle. It’s a movie for all fun and entertaining.
So what is your favorite version of Cinderella there are so many. Also the first Actress to play Cinderella in Rodgers and Hammerstein’s version was Julie Andrews. That would be entertaining to see on dvd.
